Eight chefs win the Meilleur Ouvrier de France title
At the end of the final trials organized at the Lyce Lesdiguires in Grenoble on November 16 and 17, eight chefs out of 30 finalists, including for the first time a Japanese, entered the circle of excellence of the Best Workers in France Kitchen.
Del Arte issues a monthly subscription
The Le Duff Group and its Italian cuisine brand managed to create a buzz with their monthly subscription being tested in 13 restaurants. Four out of 10 French people say they will go to a restaurant less often in the coming months
The NPD Group predicts a market for 2022 with a 5% drop in spending and 9% in visits, compared to 2019. The average ticket has increased by 7% since 2019, all consumption occasions combined in fast food and table catering. But the French keep their family outings.
Paul Marcon: winner of the 2022 Jean Delavyne Trophy

Meal sharing: a growing worldwide phenomenon
Kantar’s new study Eat Out or At Home: How Food Delivery Transformed the Foodservice Industry reveals that the global foodservice market saw a 33% increase in order volume in the first half of 2022 compared to the first half of 2021 Almost half of the time (47%), meals are taken on site at a restaurant. One in three cases (31%) meals are sent home, while in 22% of cases the meals are taken away.
In Europe, the British come out on top, with 67 orders a year, an increase of 40% compared to the previous year. In European capitals, the number of consumers ordering at least once a week has doubled since the start of 2020.
2023 Professional President’s Creation and Taste Competition Winners: Richard Agliata in Cooking and Morgan Louis in Pastries
Dedicated to highlighting young talent, the Creation and Taste Competition organized by the Professional President crowned two young professionals who impressed their respective juries during the tests at Ecole Ferrandi Paris. 8 chefs and 8 pastry chefs fulfilled the high expectations of the star presidents of the two juries: Emmanuel Renaut and Sbastien Vauxion. Richard Agliata, La Chvre d’Or Eze and Morgan Louis, Ptisserie Marie Simon Beaune, won the holy grail.
Xavier Thuizat is France’s best new Sommelier
Working at the L’ecrin restaurant at the Hôtel de Crillon Paris, the winner was opposed in the final with Mikael Grou (Hotel Beau Rivage Geneva) and Pierre Vila Palleja (Le Petit Sommelier Paris).
Alexandre Zoccolan winner of the 2022 competition for master restorers of young talents
