European Waste Discount Week (EWRW)

As part of the European Waste Reduction Week (SERD), first-year master’s students Waste Management and Circular Economy (MIDEC) will run two waste awareness stands in collaboration with the Sarthe Nature Environnement association.

Highlights of the week!

Awareness level for waste separation

You can meet students of the MIDEC Masters in the Mensa of the Faculty of Natural Sciences on November 22nd and 24th from 10 to 14’o clock!

In program :

  • Distribution of material for selective sorting (flyers, Stop Pub etc.)
  • sort games
Level of awareness of the environmental impact of the textile industry

You can meet students of the MIDEC Masters in the Anteroom of the University Library of Le Mans on November 22nd and 24th from 10 to 14’o clock!

In program :

  • Collection of clean clothes and shoes.
    Clothes & shoes in good condition will be collected by the Student Solidarity Grocery. The grocery store uses special sheets and duvet covers (200 x 220 cm). Other used clothing and shoes are recycled.
  • Free Tawashi workshop*.
    *The Tawashi is a zero-waste sponge made from recycled fabric. We use it to do the dishes, wash the table, clean the car…
  • Free clothing repair workshop (only Thursday, November 24th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) : Bring a piece of clothing that needs repairing and learn how to fix it (reset a button, redo a hem, make a patch, etc.)
  • Exhibition on the environmental impact of the textile industry.

A committed educational cooperation!

In addition to the highlights organized during the European Week for Waste Reduction (SERD), actions will be implemented throughout the year by the students of the Master in Waste Engineering and Circular Economy Management:

  • Set up selective sorting at the 2 BU level.
  • Work on suggested scenarios to give documents a second life.
  • Make users aware of the proper management of resources and waste in the BUs.

The goal of the students to make the university libraries
the Le Mans and Laval campuses more environmentally conscious!
