On the sidelines of the activities within the 6th edition of the Days of Cooperation and Professional Integration (JCIP), a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University of Parakou, ABPF and ABMS-PSI on Monday 14 November 2022.
The official act of collaboration between the University of Parakou, the ABPF and the ABMS-PSI was signed in the afternoon of this Monday, November 14, 2022, during a ceremony presided over by Professor Bertrand SOGBOSSI BOCCO, Rector of the University of Parakou. Several mayors from the northern zone, especially the city of Parakou, attended this ceremony, among others.
In her opening speech, Professor Yvette ONIBON DOUBOGAN, Vice Rector for Cooperation, expressed her satisfaction on the signing of the partnership agreements and memorandum between Parakou University and some of its partners, including ABPF and ABMS-PSI.
Léonce DOSSOU, Communications and Mass Media Coordinator at ABMS-PSI, on behalf of ABPF and ABMS-PSI, thanked the authorities of the University of Parakou for the outcome of this process, launched a few months ago on the recommendation of the Embassy of the Netherlands near Benin. The aim of this approach, he specifies, is to strengthen interventions in the fields of sexual and reproductive health and rights for the benefit of students and users of the Parakou University campus.
As part of this collaboration, and in line with the joint action plan proposed by ABPF and ABMS-PSI, about thirty young students from Parakou University have already benefited from skills building on the essential notions in sexual and reproductive health and rights communication for social and behavioral change. This workshop, held June 20-24, 2022, provided participants with the skills needed to effectively advance sexual and reproductive health and rights in science.
The continuation of youth-oriented information activities and health offers will enable the University of Parakou to effectively and efficiently take over and promote the sexual and reproductive health of the students.
It should be noted that ABMS-PSI has established and operated a friendly health service delivery center called “Centre Jeunes Amour&Vie” within Parakou University for several years. This relocated center behind the residences of Mohamed VI offers youth and young people friendly services: listening to advice, use of contraceptive methods, screening and management of sexually transmitted infections, HIV counseling and screening, hepatitis B screening, nutritional counseling, psychological care and Case treatment of malaria and other common diseases.
